Involvement in Professional Conferences — Including Deadlines for Students

Sent via email to the EL Alliance community

Dear EL Alliance Students, Mentors, and Partners,

Participating in conferences is a valuable professional practice and an important aspect of engagement in our community.  We include information about upcoming opportunities as presenters, volunteers, exhibitors, or scholarship recipients on the EL Alliance Website and in the EL Alliance Newsletter, particularly when there are opportunities for student involvement.

There are several events coming up over the next year or so that we wanted to make sure you knew about now, so you could consider participating in the technical program or outreach efforts.  This is a brief list; for more information, see the EL Alliance Website at http://www.empoweringleadership.org/Events/of_interest.html.

Note in particular the deadlines for student opportunities for the Grace Hopper Celebration, Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers, and SC08. These events offer student scholarships, awards, or volunteer opportunities.

Sincerely,

Richard Tapia
Principal Investigator, EL Alliance
