The EL Alliance is supported through the National Science Foundation's Directorate for Computer and Information Science (CISE) and Engineering's Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) program.

Research and Evaluation

An independent evaluation of the EL Alliance will be conducted by Dr. Lecia Barker and staff of the ATLAS Assessment and Research Center (ATLAS-ARC) at the University of Colorado. The goal of evaluation is to support leaders in implementing the program as well as in assessing the impact of the program. The evaluation goal will be met by integrating formative and summative components into the overall implementation plan in partnership with the Leadership Team. Formative evaluation will focus on the key strategies and activities intended to retain students and will include regular feedback on these practices. This feedback is intended to play a critical role in helping to shape the program, enabling the leadership team to make mid-course corrections toward the desired outcomes. In addition, summative evaluation will measure and quantify the impact of the proposed strategies and activities.
